Description

Chang-Tai Hsieh is the Winkleread Professor of Economics and Chicago Booth, an NBER Research Associate, a Senior Fellow at the Bureau for Research in Economic Analysis of Development, an Elected Member of Academia Sinica, and the recipient of the Sun Ye-Fang award for research on the Chinese economy. His work bridges macroeconomics and applied economics with a focus on economic development and growth in Latin America and Asia. He will be presenting "Special Deals from Special Investors:  The Rise of State-Connected Private Owners in China" (available via the link, under "working papers") which studies ownership structures of Chinese firms and connections to state-owned firms.
