He previously served as president of the Great Midwestern Ice Cream Company and participated in the Iowa Business and Education Roundtable for five years before switching careers. He wrote the book, Schools Cannot Do It Alone and now speaks nationally encouraging educators, business leaders and community groups to work together to build successful schools. Using his personal transformation as evidence, he shares why there is no greater return on investment of our tax dollars than public schools.

IBC/MSU-CIBER is organizing an international business student case competition in the Broad College. The student teams will have 3 days to work on the business case and present their solutions to a panel of industry judges. Each presentation will last for 20 min, followed by 10 min Q&A session. You are invited! $4,000 competition award fund: $2,000 for the 1st place, $1,000 for the 2nd place, $600 for the 3rd place, $400 for the 4th place Gain valuable experience and make yourself more marketable (unique line on a resume, topic of conversation in interviews, etc.) Each participant will receive Case in Point: Case Competition book, a great toolkit for case preparation Potential to represent Broad College at the national case competitions Eligibility The competition is open to Broad College undergraduate students Each team must consist of 4 students. This conversation features Professor Anne-Wil Harzing, provider of the Harzing.com web portal and the Harzing Academic Resources YouTube channel, and a discussion of the resources she offers for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and academics more generally. Anne-Wil will explain what motivated her early on in her career to offer resources and guidance for ECRs. She will take the participants through the origins of her website, the Journal Quality List and Publish or Perish software. Anne-Wil will also discuss the CYGNA network, her blog on all things academia, career guides, and YouTube channel, as well as the recent #PositiveAcademia initiative. She will also offer her top-3 dos and donts for ECRs in developing their careers and tips for ECRs to build up their external profiles. What You Will Learn: 1.
