April's speaker is Congressman Mike Rogers from Michigan's Eighth District. The title of his talk is, "The Global Economy from a Federal Perspective." The Global Business Club of Mid-Michigan focuses on global issues of interest to the mid-Michigan business community. In this role, the GB Club is dedicated to supporting global business growth of the State of Michigan and its diverse manufacturing and service organizations. The monthly GB Club luncheons provide outstanding speakers and relaxed networking opportunities.

The Lansing Regional Chamber Economic Club is dedicated to promoting and stimulating economic growth through timely and insightful community forums presented for personal and professional development. The Economic Club provides a forum where local business and community leaders can hear presentations on a broad range of business-related topics. Past presentations have ranged from how global economic trends affect the national and local economy, to hearing how leaders from different walks of life have achieved their success and view of the future. MSU will invite hundreds of high school students, teachers, administrators, and parents to campus to explore a world of languages during the third annual World Languages Day on April 21, 2007. Free to all participants, this annual event focuses on the experiences that languages offer, and highlights the opportunities available for language study at MSU. Participants choose from dozens of sessions ranging from "Bollywood dreams: Discover India through Hindi Cinema" and "Banane! How to speak French using food vocabulary" to "The sword and Zen: An introduction to Iajutsu". Sponsored by over 15 different campus departments and units, this event draws students, teachers, and parents from all over Michigan.

MSU-CIBER started and manages all business study abroad programs for the College of Business. The summer 2007 offerings include nineteen programs on four continents, including the Stuttgart, Germany, program that places students in internships with such companies as DaimlerChrysler and IBM. Students may choose from faculty-led and traditional study abroad programs. MSU-CIBER awards study abroad scholarships each spring for summer programs.

The GTDC's Investor Relations Conference is a targeted, intimate gathering of buy- and sell-side financial analysts from the nation's top investment firms that focus on IT distribution and the channel. The conference will include panels and breakout sessions. The panels will be comprised by the leaders of the top IT distributor companies in the world. You will hear from the industry's top wholesale distributors about their own individual performance, as well as the strength and viability of the IT channel as a whole, and specific product segments in particular. During the conference investors and analysts will have the opportunity to register for breakout meetings with the presidents and CEOs of the GTDC member companies.
