Michigan Business Network celebrates its annual Greater Lansing Business + Sports Luncheon. This is one of four major events the Michigan Business Network host per year, bringing in the regionalbusinesses. This events past speakers have ranged across the sports landscape. They have taken that notoriety and their skills and impacted the business world. This year's speaker is Michigan, born and bred. He attended Waterford Kettering High School before becoming a two-sport star at Michigan State University. Kirk Gibson went on to a successful professional baseball career, that included two of the most iconic home runs in World Series history. Following his athletic career he became a baseball analyst for the Detroit Tigers. In 2003 he began a decade in coaching. In 2015 he returned to the booth for the Tigers

This event features film and book promotion by the author(s) of Second Shift: The Inside Story of the Keep GM Movement book. The Lansing Works! Keep GM! movement was a victory of people over bureaucracy, of a can-do attitude over cynicism―a story rarely told in todays complex, technological, and often dehumanizing world of large business and out-of-control government. And the best part was that, in the end, both sides came away winners. Its proof positive that when the public and private sectors work together as equal partners, amazing things can happen.
