This event is designed to bring researchers from the social and technical disciplines together to generate discussion and collaboration that will improve our knowledge of cybercrime and the policy response to this phenomenon. The conference will utilize a TED Talk style structure, where in a 50-minute panel two speakers will have approximately 20-25 minutes each to present their work and ideas at a high level. Each session will feature a social and technical researcher to promote synergy.

Speaker Elena Stegemann, Director of International Business, NuStepThis event will cover the basic concepts in exporting--from doing research to select your target market, how to best take advantage of international trade shows, and method of entry to the logistics and legalities of shipping your product overseas and getting paid. This session will offer a wealth of information to those considering or new to exporting, as well as some tips and ideas for those already in the export game. A portion of the morning will include group discussion, as well as time for questions and answers. Jade Sims, Trade Specialist at the MSU International Business Center, will lead the morning program. Zara Smith, Export Program Manager at Michigan Small Business Development Center, will focus on the export assistance offered by SBDC to its clients, most notably the search engine optimization (SEO) services and other helpful information for selling online. Our luncheon keynote will be provided by Elena Stegemann, Director of International Business at NuStep, a fast-growing exercise equipment company with outstanding international success.The Global Business Club of Mid-Michigan focuses on global issues of interest to the mid-Michigan business community. The monthly GB Club luncheons provide outstanding speakers and relaxed networking opportunities. With extensive international experience, the speakers wrap personal insights around a practical and up-to-the-minute approach to conducting international trade.

Offered in partnership with Community Colleges for International Development, the International Business Institute on the Road workshops offer an abbreviated version of the flagship International Business Institute for Community College Faculty (IBI) that is offered biennially in East Lansing. The aim of the IBI is to provide participants with the knowledge, experience and resources they need to internationalize general business courses and/or develop specialized international business courses at the two-year college level. Since 1995, the biennial conference has given participants the opportunity to explore new ways of incorporating international components to their curricula as well as network with peers from across the nation.

World Languages Day is a free, all-day conference for high school students, teachers, and parents. The event bringsover 500 participants, presenters, and volunteers to campus for a conference on world cultures and languages, globalization, the importance of learning foreign languages, and the positive impact knowledge of other languages can have on future career paths. High school students, parents, and teachers from across the state come to learn more about Michigan State University and the myriad international opportunities it offers. Participants choose from 75-85 sessions taught by MSU faculty, graduate students, and community members on topics includinglanguage, culture, globalization, and general information about MSU.
