Midwest Economic Theory and International Trade Conference

The Fall 2021 Midwest Economic Theory and International Trade Meetings will be held October 8-10 at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. The meeting will be in person and there is no submission fee and no registration fee. The deadline for submission is August 25 at 11:59 PM EDT.

Chang-Tai Hsiehis the Winkleread Professor of Economics and Chicago Booth, an NBER Research Associate,a Senior Fellow at the Bureau for Research in Economic Analysis of Development,an Elected Member of Academia Sinica, and the recipient of the Sun Ye-Fang award for research on the Chinese economy. His work bridges macroeconomics and applied economics with a focus on economic development and growth in Latin America and Asia. He will be presenting Special Deals from Special Investors: The Rise of State-Connected Private Owners in China (available via the link,under working papers) which studies ownership structures of Chinese firms and connections to state-owned firms.
