25th Annual Pow-Wow of Love

Jenison Field House at MSU 223 Kalamazoo St, East Lansing

The pow-wow has attracted 4,000 people from the Michigan State community, the greater Lansing Area, and all over the U.S., and is also the largest student organized event on campus. The pow-wow is an opportunity for Native American students to share their heritage and invite others to learn about and experience a culture than many people do not have the opportunity to experience. This year's pow-wow is the 25th annual event.

Export Finance and Payments

The workshop is aimed at enhancing Michigan companies knowledge of exporting and how to target top export markets for their products.

Dennis Lynch, Food Export Helpline® Counselor for Food Export Association of the Midwest, will present information on a wide range of exporting issues. Jan Blaho of the Export-Import Bank of the United States will discuss financing for export shipments. Topics for the seminar will include the following:

* The elements of an export transaction;

* Trade finance and reducing your international risks;

* Protection against non-payment as you enter into new foreign markets;

* Buyer financing through U.S. Export-Import Bank;

* International terms of sale and how they are integrated into pricing, quoting, and shipping process; and

* Resources available to assist Michigan companies.

Additionally, a speaker from the Michigan State University International Business Center will discuss the center's knowledge web-portal, globalEDGE.
